We feel privileged to call the University of Wisconsin-Madison our home, and even more privileged to be a part of such a wonderful community. Madison and the surrounding communities of Dane County are the perfect place for triathletes to thrive- surrounded by lakes for swimming, beautiful terrain for those long rides and miles of trails to run on, as well as hosting many triathlons such as the Badger State Summer Games triathlon, the Verona Triterium, and Ironman Wisconsin. We thank this awesome community for your support and continuous encouragement. In appreciation we have been involved in many community service and philanthropy efforts.Adopting our block!

Adopt-a-Block Program:  This program allows our team to give back to our campus.  The Triathlon Team has spends afternoons by the lake picking up garbage along the lakeshore path and surrounding area.

Bucky Blood Drive:  We volunteer at the blood drive in the canteen and with set-up and tear-down.

Special Olympics – We helped race coordinators with the Special Olympics Atkins Cycling Time Trial, ensuring the course was safe and that the athletes were having fun.

Ironman Wisconsin volunteers: We have provided support for this race as lifeguards, at aid stations, race support, set up and take down of start, finish, & transition areas, as wet suit peelers, and many more.

East Community Center:  We visit and play with the kids at the community center several times a month throughout the school year.  We swim, play Scatterball, and held a mini-Olympics competition!

$500 charitable donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: In honor of Eric McLean, the brother of one of our members. After he was diagnosed last summer, a charity was put together called L.I.F.E., the Leukemia Ironman Fundraiser for Eric.

Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics of Wisconsin:
We volunteer at the Polar Plunge at the registration tent and plunge location. Our group also raised money and yes, many of us were even crazy enough to take the frigid plunge.

Girl Neighborhood Power: Several of our female athletes presented an interactive workshop for Sun Prairie Girl Neighborhood Power; promoting health, wellness, fitness, and confidence to young girls.

• Triathlon Class Race:  Every year the team assists in running the University of Wisconsin Triathlon Class Race for Physical Education 330.  We help with timing, course control, and cook the BBQ afterwards.
